Beyond the Sea: My Ride to Siargao
Siargao
Every journey has a first, and some of those firsts become memories that stay with you long after the ride is over.
For me, that was one of the most memorable parts of the trip. Miya had been my companion on the road, but this journey meant taking her beyond the roads she had traveled before. We were crossing the sea together, heading toward a place waiting to be explored.
Siargao was not just a destination on my map. It was an opportunity to discover more of my own country, one ride at a time.
Once there, I visited some of the island's well-known places, including Cloud 9, General Luna, and Magpupungko Rock Pools. I also made a loop around the island, experiencing Siargao through the simple act of riding from one place to another.
Traveling solo gives me a particular kind of freedom. I can move at my own pace, make my own way, and enjoy the experience without needing to follow anyone else's schedule. With Miya, the journey becomes something personal a connection between the road, the places I visit, and the memories I collect along the way.
But reaching an island with a motorcycle also comes with its own challenges. The journey does not begin and end on the road. Ferry crossings and transporting a motorcycle are part of the adventure, too. They require a different kind of preparation and mark the transition between one part of the journey and the next.
What made this trip special was not only the places I visited. It was the experience of bringing Miya somewhere new for the first time.
Cloud 9, General Luna, Magpupungko Rock Pools, and the island loop became part of this chapter of my travels. But the memory of Miya boarding the Ro-Ro remains at the heart of it. It represents another step forward in our journey together another island, another experience, and another reminder that there is still so much to discover.
When I look back on this trip, I remember it as a mix of feelings: the excitement of exploring somewhere new, the challenges of traveling with a motorcycle between islands, and the quiet satisfaction of taking Miya somewhere we had never been before.
For me, that is what Sun Quest is about.
It is not simply about collecting destinations or counting kilometers. It is about the experiences that make each journey meaningful, the places that become part of my story, and the freedom to keep exploring even when the road leads somewhere unfamiliar.
Siargao was another chapter, but not the final one. There are still more islands, more roads, and more places waiting beyond the horizon.
And wherever the next journey takes me, Miya will be part of the story.
“Every island crossed is another chapter, every road is another memory, and every journey with Miya brings me closer to the world I dream of exploring.”
