I thought there was a road on the map. When I got there, the road was almost nothing like what I expected.

In real time, the trail was muddy and grassy. It had been raining a little, and my tires were road tires—not adventure tires.

For a moment, I thought about turning back. My motorcycle wasn't really built for that kind of terrain.

But I never surrendered.

I kept pushing until I finally reached the top.

"I was on the top of the world."

From the summit, I had a 360-degree view of Surigao del Norte. That feeling made every difficult section of the road worth it.

I stayed there and camped for the rest of the night.

The road almost made me turn around, but reaching the summit made every difficult kilometer worth it.

🛣️ Road Dusty & Slippery Mining areas and heavy trucks

This was a long-distance ride with friends, heading toward the Laswitan Tide Pool.

The journey took us through several mining areas where the roads were dusty and slippery.

There were also big trucks moving along the road, which made the ride more challenging.

One moment became especially memorable.

A tricycle suddenly braked and turned right. I didn't have enough time to react and ended up going into the gutter.

Thankfully, nothing bad happened.

We continued the journey and eventually made it to the tide pool.

Making it through.

Even with dusty roads, slippery sections, heavy trucks and an unexpected close call, we kept going.

This was one of those rides where the destination wasn't the only adventure.

We started from Surigao City and headed toward Bogac Cold Spring.

From there, we continued to the Rizal seafood area where we stopped to eat.

The food was inexpensive, delicious, and we got full almost instantly.

After that, we continued toward Tinuy-an Falls.

Finally, we reached Enchanted River in Hinatuan. We took a small swim, relaxed, and enjoyed the rest of the day.

Good food. Good roads. Good memories.

Sometimes the best part of a journey is stopping somewhere unexpected, grabbing something delicious, and enjoying the people you're riding with.
